Ursula Hudak Fine Art Ceramics
Ursula Hudak’s ceramic practice combines pottery and hand sculpture to create carved and decorated works. Her work explores the perception of female forms and a transformation of inherited societal and religious trauma, balancing both feelings of mourning and belonging. She draws from her combined Czech/Slovak and Syrian/Lebanese heritage in the patterns painted and carved on her works, inspired by Czech and Syrian embroidery and Slovakian folk majolica. Her works often include other materials and processes of textile and weaving, natural materials and light.
